Scotsman repairs we handle

• Not making ice, low production, or ice that will not harvest: ice machine not making ice.
• Water on the floor, cloudy ice, slime or mold: leaking and ice quality problems.
• Water valves, pumps, sensors, bin controls, fan motors, compressors and controls.
• Refrigerant leaks and refrigeration faults, handled by EPA certified technicians.

Scotsman cleaning and maintenance

Scotsman's user manual says to clean and sanitize the water system at least twice a year, to sanitize the bin as often as local health codes require and every time the machine is cleaned, and to change filter cartridges after six months or when pressure drops. It also recommends a refrigeration technician for condenser cleaning (Scotsman).

California requires ice makers to be cleaned at the frequency the manufacturer specifies (HSC 114117), and ice is food under the state food code (HSC 113781). See ice machine cleaning and sanitizing and water filters.

Before you call

Note the model and serial number, what the machine is doing (no ice, slow ice, water on the floor) and any indicator lights. It helps us bring the right parts.

Replacing a Scotsman machine

New self-contained ice machines up to 1,000 pounds per day (batch) or 1,200 pounds per day (continuous) have been limited to refrigerants with a GWP under 150 since January 1, 2026 (40 CFR 84.54). See ice machine installation and replacement for sizing, location, drains and rebates.
