This policy explains what information Cool Aid A/C & Refrigeration (“1800 COOL AID”, “we”, “us”) collects through 1800coolaid.com, how we use it and the choices you have. If you have a question, contact us using the details at the end of this page.
Information you give us
When you fill in a form on this website, we receive what you type into it:
- Quote and service request forms: your name, phone number, email address, address (optional) and the service you are interested in.
- Contact forms: your name, email address, phone number, subject and message.
- Service landing pages: your name, business name, phone number, what you need and any reference you add.
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
With each form we also receive some details about the request itself: the page you sent it from, how you found the website (from the coolaid_src cookie described below, including any ad campaign or click ID), your IP address and approximate location based on it, and your device and browser type. We use these to understand which of our advertising and listings bring in customers and to filter out spam.
If you reached this website from one of our Google ads, the phone number shown may be a Google forwarding number. Calls to it reach us as normal, and Google reports call details to us, such as the time and length of the call and the caller’s area code.
How we use it
- To respond to your request, give you a quote and schedule and carry out service.
- To send you our newsletter if you signed up for it. You can ask us to stop at any time.
- To see how visitors use the website and which ads and pages work, so we can improve them.
- To block spam and abuse of our forms.
Advertising and your browsing data
We do not sell the information you give us in our forms. We do advertise with Google Ads, and this website uses Google’s advertising tags. They tell Google when you visit our pages and whether a visit led to a call or a request, and they let Google show our ads to people who have visited this website before (remarketing). Google receives this browsing information under its own privacy policy.
You can turn off personalized ads from Google at adssettings.google.com, and learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Service providers
We use a small number of companies to run this website and handle your requests. They process information only to provide their service to us:
- Vercel hosts this website.
- Mailgun delivers form submissions to our email inbox.
- Google provides Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Google Fonts and the maps embedded on some pages.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This website sets the following cookies:
| Name | Set by | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
coolaid_src | Cool Aid (this website) | Remembers how you first arrived (for example the search, ad or website that sent you), the page you landed on and how many pages you have viewed. If you send us a form, this is added to your request so we know where it came from. | 90 days |
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells visits apart so we can count visitors and see which pages are used. | Up to 400 days |
_ga_8K54S61DRE | Google Analytics | Keeps the state of your current visit for Google Analytics. | Up to 400 days |
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Measures whether a visit that came from one of our Google ads led to a call or a request. | 90 days |
Google Ads also stores two items in your browser’s local storage: _gcl_ls, which records an ad click so a later call or request can be matched to it, and a call-tracking entry that lets Google show a tracking phone number to visitors who came from an ad, so we can tell which ads lead to calls.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website still works without them. To stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. For ads, see Google’s ad settings. More about how Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it, and you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time. Contact us using the details below and we will respond.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and form submissions are delivered to our business email. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as payment card numbers through our forms.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
