A hard-to-find refrigerant leak on a specialized defense-transport cooling system
One of our most memorable emergency calls involved a transportable air-conditioning unit on a defense-transport system that had developed a freon gas leak. The leak had to be located and repaired before the system could be recharged and put back into service.
The leak was in a difficult, hard-to-reach spot — but we found it, made the repair, recharged the system, and got it back up and running.
Bowlero family entertainment center — Valley Fair, Santa Clara
For Bowlero at the Valley Fair shopping mall, we ran several copper piping line sets 80 feet across the ceiling, then another 80 feet up a fairly small shaft to reach the condensing units on the roof.
Complex routing like this is exactly the kind of commercial work our crews handle every week.
Hilton Garden Inn, Milpitas — server-room emergency
The manager at the Hilton Garden Inn in Milpitas called because the AC system serving their server room had stopped working. We found the system had suffered a catastrophic failure.
Because a hot server room can mean lost data and downtime, we moved fast — got the system replaced and the server-room cooling back up and running in no time.
Tender Greens restaurant, Palo Alto — exhaust hood down mid-service
Tender Greens in Palo Alto had their exhaust hood blower stop working. We went out, diagnosed the problem as two burnt-out micro-switches, located the parts at one of our local suppliers, returned, and made the repair — all within hours.
The restaurant was able to stay open for business the same day.
Almaden home — AC overflowing from the safety drain pan
A homeowner in Almaden (Peter Z.) had one of his AC systems overflowing water from the safety drain pan. We diagnosed the issue, fixed it, and put his air conditioning back in operation the same hot day.
