Common walk-in faults we find

Not holding temperature

The most common call. Causes include a dirty or blocked condenser coil, a failed condenser or evaporator fan motor, low refrigerant from a leak, a failing compressor or contactor, or a thermostat or controller that has drifted. Ice on the evaporator coil

• Look at the obvious: is the breaker on, is the condensing unit running, is the evaporator fan turning, is the coil a block of ice?
• Move the most sensitive product (dairy, raw proteins, prepared foods) to working reach-ins or another cooler if you have space.
• Do not keep resetting a tripped breaker or compressor overload. Repeated resets can turn a repairable fault into a burned-out compressor.
